Counterpoint got together for an evening of fun, food and some great music as we celebrated the year that was! Performances included some great Jazz classics plus a few up tempo carols.
Counterpoint performed an evening of music celebrating the arrangements of Kirby Shaw with a range of songs including jazz standards, easy listening classics as well as a few songs from stage and screen and more.
Counterpoint were joined by the Resonance Ensemble for an afternoon of breath-focused entertainment – a program of well-known and some not quite so well-known music. The Resonance Ensemble is a new wind quintet, led by Karen Ruprecht and comprising bassoon, oboe, clarinet, French horn and flute.
No candles or carols in sight as Counterpoint, with their new musical director Dale Lingwood, deliver a wonderful selection of art songs, sacred and popular contemporary pieces topped off with some spicy jazz.
